  3. This is the Gravis File Decription "GFD" for GUS0011.ZIP
  4. If you give the accompaning files to anyone, this file must be included.

  6. About the GUS0011.ZIP user files...
  7.  
  8. Installation notes:
  9. First make a backup copy of the current version of SBOS software on your
  10. system. it can be found in your \ULTRASND\SBOS directory. Copy these files
  11. to a floppy disk or to another subdirectory.
  12.  
  13. Copy or extract the new files for the SBOS program to your \ULTRASND\SBOS
  14. directory. This will overwrite all the files that need to be updated.

  17. About this new SBOS version...
  18.  
  19. This new SBOS V1.22 maintenance update replaces the previous version SBOS
  20. 1.20. Testing on various software confirms improvements in digital sound
  21. and fewer configuration difficulties, plus the benefits of a .SYS driver
  22. for use with some CD ROM software or memory configurations.

  25. A Note on SBOSDRV.SYS...
  26.  
  27. The new sbosdrv.sys driver (v1.22) is loaded from the config.sys file 
  28. and uses the entire untrasnd environment string as its parameter.

  30. eg:

  32. device=sbosdrv.sys ultrasnd=220,7,7,11,7
  33.  
  34. where 220 is the base port.
  35.         7 and 7 are the DMA channel (in/out)
  36.         7 is the P.C.M. (MIDI) IRQ
  37.        11 is the GF1 IRQ
  38.  
  39. The user should remember to type SBOS at the DOS prompt to re-load the
  40. driver for any audio to be heard.
